Mountain biking
Mountain bikers appreciate the network of trails around the small mountain village of Fendels for shorter and longer bike tours. The generous forest roads are very varied and offer the right kind of tour for any skill and any level of stamina.
Tip: A very popular tour is the route from Fendels into the Kaunertal and back.
It is possible to take the ski lift from Ried or pedal up the valley to Fendels. In Fendels, there is a forest road with only a small incline via the former hermitage ‘Wiesele’ past the ruins of the old church.
The path takes you back to the main road of the Kaunertal at the hamlet of Vergötschen. From here, you can either take the bus to the end of the valley, or just let your bike roll downhill out of the Kaunertal.
Signing up for mountain bike tours
The tourism office has many different tours in the glacier region of Kaunertal on offer together with H20 Adventure.
Their motto is: “You don’t have to be a bike freak if you want to go biking with H20 Adventure. We offer tours both for beginners, who are more interested in nature than the sporting aspect, and for professional bikers who want a sports challenge.”
