Incredible views from 2,840 m
The Pitztal glacier closes the valley of Pitztal. Taking the glacier express, you climb up to a level of 2,840 m. From this point, the new cable car Wildspitzbahn will take you to the highest point in Austria on 3,440 m from October 2012. The highest mountain of the Tyrolean mountain range, the Wildspitze (3,774 m), is almost within reach. Free guided tours and the glacier restaurant complete what the glacier has to offer.

New Wildspitzbahn cableway
Austria’s highest cableway opens in October 2012 to take you to heights of 3,440 m. A breath-taking view awaits from the new observation deck, as well as from the floating patio or from behind the large glass window front at Café 3.440.

A free guided hiking tour around the glacier world of the Pitztal. Easy hike (good footwear is necessary).

The Chapel of the White Light
Five minutes walk from Gletschererstaurant removed, an architectural jewel is made of white granite. The chapel was designed by Tyrolean sculptor Rudi Wach. The building stands in resonance with the surrounding mountains and invites visitors to linger.

Kristall glacier restaurant
This restaurant is home to what is probably the highest cake shop in Austria. A choice of coffee and cakes, as well as Tyrolean and international cuisine, tempt visitors to stay. Large sun terrace, open daily from 9am to 4pm.
