New Wildspitzbahn cableway
Take the highest funicular in Austria to a height of 3,440 m above sea level.
During the summers of 2011 and 2012 the Pitztal glacier lift company built the modern and comfortable Wildspitzbahn cableway for its guests at an elevation of 3,440 m, the highest point in Austria accessible by cableway.
You can quickly reach the Hinteren Brunnenkogel in just under 6 minutes. A comfortable ride in a Doppelmayr gondola with heated seats awaits you just 100 m from the summit station. You will be captivated by the architecture of the new Wildspitzbahn cableway with its unique shape and harmonious integration in the Pitztal glacier world. A breath-taking view of the 3,774 m high Wildspitze and 50 other 3,000+ m peaks awaits at the summit station – from the floating sun deck and behind the wide panorama windows at Café 3.440 – Tyrol’s and Austria’s highest café or from the redesigned observation deck!
Access to the Hinteren Brunnenkogel, the observation deck and the glacier route will be blocked off due to construction for the entire 2012 summer starting on 16/04/2012. You can find information on the construction work on our website for the new cable car Wildspitzbahn.
